The Government of India has launched the Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025, the largest school hackathon to date, aiming to involve over one crore students from 1.5 lakh schools across India. Organized by the Department of School Education & Literacy (DoSEL), in collaboration with Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, and AICTE, this innovation challenge seeks to nurture creativity, problem-solving, and prototype development among school students.

Themes of Buildathon 2025: Vocal for Local, Swadeshi, Atmanirbhar Bharat, and Samriddhi Bharat — the Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 encourages students to innovate in line with India’s vision for self-reliance and prosperity.
Objective: To promote a culture of innovation at the grassroots level, allow students to ideate and build tangible prototypes, stimulate STEM & non-STEM creativity, and strengthen India’s innovation ecosystem through school participation.
Participation & Eligibility Criteria for Viksit Bharat Buildathon
- Students from classes 6-12 are eligible.
- Students participate in teams of 5-7.
- Both STEM and non-STEM categories are included, so innovations may come from technical, artistic, social science, or local-resource-based ideas.

How to Buildathon Register & Submit
- Registration is online via the official Buildathon portal: vbb.mic.gov.in
- Schools fill out student details, team composition, project concept (initial idea) during registration.
- Teachers/mentors support students in refining their ideas, building prototypes.
- Final submission includes prototype (or video/ demo) as required.
